I have some 55w halogen fog lights in the factory fog light location and they keep blowing 30 amp fuses. I have separate grounds running up to bolts up high in the engine bay, on each side of the hood latch. they both share a hot wire connected to a toggle switch in my truck, then straight to the battery with the fuse inline between the battery and the switch.
They worked for a couple days, then blew a fuse. I replaced the fuse and they lasted for about 2 seconds and blew again. Any suggestions?

check the wiring, make sure its not grounding out, all wires insulated? no loose connections? how many amps is the switch rated for? back of the switch rubbing on anything?
I would recomend running a relay using a low amperage circut to control the high amperage circut. somthing simple like this.

Yeah Ive tried to run relays and Im honestly, just to retarded to figure it out right unless the relays Iveused have been trash.
All the connections are good, no exposed wires as far as I can tell, all of them are insulated. I havent checked the switch, but its very secure in the center console...hmm...maybe a couple wires are touching in there. I doubt it, but Ill check that out next.
