Default Advice on lift height

Hey guys I've currently got a 99 xj w/ d35 auto 4.0 sitting on 2" pucks and ome HD rear leafs. I want to learn how to drive this off road before modiying it too much. But i need new tires and the tires I want either come in 235's or 31's.
Basically should I spend $1000 on the 235's now & learn how to wheel or spend another 500 - 600$ more at first on 2" coils, 2" shackles, hackntap, and jump up to 31's?
Thank you

1000 bucks? You can get quality 31" tires for like 600 bucks lol.

Hell..you could get a set of 5 31" km2s for under 1000 im sure.

Keep your 2 inch BB and get good tires. Youll be ok.

first things first, look into a new rear axle, or keep that in the back of your head.

I don't do any heavy wheeling yet but i have in my plans for the 29spline 8.25 down the road. I first want good tires and recovery points before i get into anything
