Default Adding Leaf Springs in Front

Has anyone here replaced their coil springs for leaf springs? The more I work with my Cherokee suspension, the more I miss the simpler leaf springs I've had on trucks in the past.

For starters, is there a set of springs that mate up naturally? Anybody ever screwed their Jeep up trying it?

It isnt a very simple swap. You will need to strengthen/build a new front crossmember, chop off all the link mounts on the axle and add some leaf perches. Steering would have to be addressed, and spring and shackle hangers. Most run the shackle in front to keep the leaves at a decent angle, this puts bending main leafs more at risk however when on the trail. Waggy front leaf springs i have seen used for this swap before.

I for one hate having leaf springs on a steering axle. The front end wont handle as tightly, you will introduce axle wrap and hop to the front, and just when crawling watching your tires come closer to you as the main leaves bend doesnt sit well with me. The factory 4 link setup in an xj is great, and there is a ton of aftermarket support for it. I don't know why anyone would want to convert a linked truck to leaf springs, but to each his own.

My j10 is currently on leaves, i hate it, a 3 link is coming soon.
