Installing my 3" lift today. It was going well. My leaf bolts came out in one piece, no drama or anything. Ready to put in my new b.p. eliminators, just have to punch out the welded nuts that my shock bolts snapped off in. Well, these things refuse to move! I've tried a hammer and punch, a drill, even a giant punch and floor jack combo. That just lifted the jeep off the jack stands. Just had to vent, not much room under there to swing a hammer, and my brother and bud bailed on me. It's me flying solo.

I beat on those nuts for prolly 2 hours with a 10 inch punch, and a couple pound hammer. They will come out, but it ain't as easy as everyone makes it sound.

It was an aal, but I bought it off someone who already put it together
As far as shocks, those for a 3" lift should be perfectly fine.

Go thru the top. Drill the center hole from below up through your floor. cut a 4"x5" section from your floor and use nuts and bolts from the top. Way easier!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had 1 of 4 break, im surprised at not all 4 with the way my entire rear end went.
I had an air hammer, with a punch on it, and a little 3 gallon air compressor. the vibration and suck rapid tapping got the weld nut out in about 3 minutes.

My buddy Jay used to be a mechanic, and has all his tools he's letting me use. He is buying an air chisel tomorrow, because he feels bad not being able to help me. Im pretty sure that will do the trick.

And of course, my leaf bolt on the other side seized in the sleeve. Spoke too soon. I have new bolts though, so I'm going to cut it off frame-side with a sawzall.

This is exactly what I did after doing what someone else mentioned. (Laying under that thing pounding on it with a maul hammer and punch getting a face full of rust for 30 minutes.) I finally said enough of that and drilled up and then cut away the floor from above. Being careful not to go thru BOTH parts of the floor as it is a double floor at that point! It's not as horrible as it sounds and makes the job way easier and since it's the upper flooring everything is still covered from below and the carpet covers back up from above. I'll try and get a photo with my cell phone tomorrow.
