Did you pull the cluster and check the bulb numbers?

There are different bulbs in the dash, the only way to know which bulbs are equivalent you need to know the bulb numbers

This. It only takes 5 minutes to get the gauge cluster out so just pull it and write down the bulb numbers.

Maybe it only takes 5 minutes to take the cluster out, but thats an additional 5 minutes i dont have to spare....that's why its going to have to be a one shot deal......there's a ton of people on this thread with my year of cherokee that has done the LED mod and i cant get a confirmation??

With all due respect.. It really takes a phillips screwdriver and 10 minutes or less to take it apart. Nothing complicated. You spent more than that checking for updates on this thread. However... I want to do the same thing to mine.. Its a 98 SE so I'm not sure if my numbers will help you or not but I am about to go take it apart and look at them. I'll write them down and post.

OK So I got the info for my 98 It may help you out with yours. Keep in mind mine is a 98 but I imagine they are close if not the same. The shifter light is red for some reason and is pictured of course with the shifter. You simply pop of the cover under the shifter and pull it out no screws or anything on that one. It is a 194R (r for red) I noticed at the parts store they had a 194b also for blue. I ordered a replacements for this from superbrightleds.com part number 3157 they have 5 colors. I went with blue. This is an update.. the 3157 does not fit into the sleeve although it does work in the socket. I now have ordered another bulb with a smaller diameter for the gear stick light. It's part number is WLED-xHP

The Cluster backlights are 24's (74's work but are too dim) there was no visible writing on them so I got 24's which looked right and popped them in and they work great. There are 3 of them they are the ones with the brown sockets.
I ordered replacements for them from superbrightleds.com part number 24-xHP they have 5 colors I went with blue.

The Oil, Volts and Temp warning lights are all 194's I didn't order replacements for these myself but I am sure they will be easy to find on the same sight.

The rest of the cluster which includes; upshift, full time, part time, left turn , right turn, High Beams, Cruise, security, low wash, seat belt, air bag, service engine, abs, brake, and lift (rear hatch open indicator) , are all 74's
That makes a total of

15- 74's
3- 194's (3 for dash and 1 for gear shift... I only ordered the one for shifter)
3-24's (for backlights) although 74's fit here and work they were very dim in my test.
1-update for gear shift lite you need a WLED-xHP
To be clear I think all you need to do to change the color is the 3 backlights and the gear shift. They also have lights on superbrightleds.com for the glove box and dome but I didnt order those yet.
