98 XJ, wheel is 1/4 off to the left to drive straight
Looking for some help with my 98 xjs alignment, it is lifted with f150 coils which I think gives it atleast 3 In of lift, the front Trac bar is in its factory position no relocated holes or brackets, and everything on the front end seems tight, the jeep has a 1/4 play to the left to get it drive straight it also binds when the wheel is turned more then a half way left or right from straight, is this a Trac bar issue? The jeep has never been in a accident, it just drifts hard to the right and bump steers like crazy at low speeds (under 40 mph)

Easiest way to get the steering wheel centered is adjust the drag link. I forget which way you have to turn it but have someone sit in the drivers seat while you adjust it. As for the bump steer, most likely a track bar issue though I've never really had to deal with it so I can't help you there.

When you lift it 3" and use the stock track bar, the axle is moved a little towards the drivers side. It won't be centered under the vehicle any longer. While it is moved towards the drivers side, the vehicle probably pulls a little to the right even though the alignment is good. You either need to modify your existing brackets or get a new track bar to fix this problem. Mine is like this and I have just gotten used to it. As soon as parts need replacing, it'll get upgraded as it doesn't really hurt anything for now.

i have a 2-3" lift and it is the same way and SCOTMPHOTO is right. i had 2 diffrent places try and align it and both said the same thing that i needed an adj track bar because my front axle is moved to one side by 1/4". i knew that it would be because of the lift since as you lower the front axle (aka lift the jeep) the track bar will pull the axle to one side but i was still hoping that it could be aligned - but it cant. mine has a slight driver side pull and iv just have gotten use to it.

I just bought the jeep from the hood literaly, I doubt the po got an alignment after, he unplugged the 02 sensors and cut the pig tails off the wiring harness because that would "make it go faster" in his words. Ok I will buy a new trac bar for now.

Just get a alignment. When I lifted my 95 I had the same thing. Firestone will give you a lifetime plan for only about $150, it's way worth it.
