Default 98 xj 3inch lifting help needed

So im looking at buying a 3inch rusty with new leaf packs since they are like 20 min from my house but im wondering what I need to keep the steering right. I was thinking a adjustable control arm, droped pitman arm and some new control arms, steering box brace, and a trans case drop to keep vibes away.

Not much is needed for a 3" lift. Just use what the kit gives you. Just remember you need to get a realignment.

I have the exact set up as your talking about, 98 too.

I didnt mess with my steering or track bar at all. all stock. Drives fine. But if you have a 242 and 8.25 then get a tc drop.

If that happens you will need a adj trac bar. But with 3" you won't need it. 3" doesn't really change much. When you past 4" problems can start. Remember, some XJS react different to a lift.

Part time & full time = NP 242

2 hi 4hi N 4 lo = NP 231

It wont matter though a TC drop is a TC drop because is drops the crossmember down...

3 inches wont change much for your trackbar but i redrilled the axle mount for it. If you have the funds and wheel is buy an adjustable track bar though...

I would only do one if you get vibes... your track bar and drag link have to be at the same angle to keep DW away...

It does matter on the 97+. with the 242 + 8.25, it is the shortest rear drive shaft put in cherokees, and at 3 inch lift, i NEEDED one. If you have a 231 and 8.25, you may not need one because they drive shaft is longer.

You either have a 8.25 or a d35 rear end. the 8.25 is a bit longer (pinion).

So if you have abs, you have a d35, if not, you have a 8.25

The combo of 4.0-aw4-242-8.25 on a 97+ You will need a tc drop. But its just a bandaid that puts more stress on motor/tranny mounts

SYE would fix it if you have the 231 t-case. What t-case do you have?
