Are the dowel pins lined up properly ? Also some people have to hammer on the #1 & 6 header tubes to create room.

Hammer the aluminum intake? Where above the 6th runner? Trying to hammer it down onto the dowel?

A little more info could be a little more helpful then just "hammer"

I don't see pinching off the headers as a good option? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Put a ATP on my '98 a few months back. To make it fit nicely grind your intake a lil and give that header some sweet ball-peen lovin!
