Default 89 XJ transfer case drop questions

So I bought a lifted 89 jeep cherokee. It already had the lift on there so no I don't know what kind of lift it is. Anyway I noticed that the yolk is being pulled out pretty far at least 1.5" from where it should be. I was going to drop the transfer case with a transfer case drop kit as shown on this link http://www.ebay.com/itm/260463100656?ite
My question is the kit has a 1.25" nylon spacer to drop the T-case. I have read in quite a few different places that you should never drop the T-case over 1" That being said is it ok to drop the T-case 1.25" or is that quarter inch over going to destroy my life and kill my jeep and burn my house down and impregnant my girlfriend?? Or is the quarter inch going to be fine. BTW I have a 4.5" lift as it sits now

You should just skip right to a SYE. More money but it's the right way to do it.
