Default 88 doorless?

Trying to figure out how to get my 88 doorless. I dont have the pin with the flat top on it? All i have is a roll pin in my hinge. Any suggestions? Or writeups for renix era xjs?

My 87 was a piece of cake. So was the 90. The hinge pins on all 3 of mine (all Renix era) were pressed in from the top. So I cut the bottom piece off the hinge, knocked it off, cut the pins a little shorter, and had to cut a little notch in the piece of the hinge that actually bolts to the door for clearance. Then I drilled the holes out barely any bigger to make the doors go on and off easier but not enough to make it a loose fit. And that's all there is to it. Theres a writeup somewhere for it, I know there is...I used the writeup first time I made an XJ doorless.

My 88 was simple like Kirk said my driver door is a mother to get back on tho. I've bored the holes out a lot have a loose fit and it still hard to line up passenger door is easy to do

Try loosening the bolts and adjusting the hinges a little. I spent about an hour per door on the 90 adjusting the hinges so the doors would go on and off easily.

I did that I did the mod then slackend the bolts body and door side so everything was loose and made it the best I can. My driver door hits the fender. I only take them off once a year and put them back on once a year

Welp. Just did it. But only to the fronts. And i have the same problem with the drivers side. Comes off easily, just a pain to get to line back up and slide in. Kinda have to rock it to get it all the way in. Passenger works great though. Opens and closes easier than before!
