Default 86 comanche rear end

So less than one week after doing this to my xj

And after I got all the money together to rebuild it. While driving around my 86 comanche

I blew up the rear end on the comanche... Just a little dana35. Now if this was an xj I would have a new rear end in there in less than an hour. But the mjs d35 is a leaf under axle setup. So what do I do? I don't think I'm gonna get another mj rear end and I need this thing back on the road ASAP, so what do I do? Throw a d35 or 8.25 in her and convert it to leaf over axle thus lifting it and putting coils up front to compensate? Or do I find a similar leaf under axle setup and cut the mounts to fit? It's a 2wd 2.5 litre 5 speed btw.

Yeah, the spring perches are a different width anyway.

Cut the perches off of an XJ 8.25, put them on the bottom and narrow them to the correct width and bolt it back in. Done.

Not sure on MJ width but YJs are also spring under. If you do go spring over keep in mind that'll give you around 5" of lift so a bit more than just new coils up front.

Think I'm just gonna move the mounts where the stock mj ones go, this jeep is temporary till I get my xj Rollin again.
