8.8 swap pinion angle cross member drop
So I currently have an 8.25, hack n tap sye on an np242 with a double cardan shaft. Lift is somewhere around 5.5" maybe. I also have a ghetto tcase/cross member drop in the form of oversized nuts placed between the frame and the cross member (Po's work, not mine). The pinion is at -2* relative to the DS.
Now, for the 8.8 swap I measured out the current pinion angle (14*) and tacked up the brackets based on that angle. However, I got to thinking and was wondering if I should ditch the t case drop and adjust the 8.8 brackets before I weld them up. Can't think of a good reason to leave the drop in there seeing as I have the CV shaft and the ability to set the pinion angle to what I need before welding it up.
Thoughts? Thanks guys

There should be no reason to have a t case drop if you have a properly set up sye and double cardan shaft. Pull the drop and re calculate, and like freegdr said take into account axle wrap.

Thanks guys, the only reason I can think that the PO would have done the cross member drop is if he didn't have the right shims for the leaf pack, and was lazy. I'll remove the drop and see how it affects driveline angle. For axle wrap I want -2* right? That's what I've been reading everywhere.
