how do you run a rear 8.8 for the front? do you flip it upside down, making it a high pinion and rotate the proper way?
People make gm 14 bolts and ford 9's into front axles fairly often. Custom tube, use some custom inner c's, then usually d60 outers with custom inner shafts.

oh so theres custom ring and pinions for an 8.8 to allow it to be ran in the front or do you run ones from an IFS 8.8 front like a sport trac?

You know I started this discussion when I stated that the Explorer 8.8 was closer to the D/60 in strength than it was to the D/44. I never made a statement that the 8.8 was as strong as a D/60, just that it was nearer the D/60 than the D/44 as far as stock axle strength.
I know I know you think that the drive shaft would be spinning the wrong way, and the vehicle would pull itself apart, this is not the case. xtreme 4x4 built a front 14 bolt a few years ago.

no you just drive on the coast side of the gear going forward , so the diff is spinning in reverse when going forward.
