I think it does. The ecu has to be reset after the swap so that it can "Re-learn" the injectors.

Not renix completely different system than odb1 or 2. If it learned data you would be able to read codes from stored data.

So you mean to tell me the renix system thinks the engine is running for the first time on every start up?

Default Injector upgrade requirements per injector and year.

That article at https://thexjguys.wordpress.com/2012...injector-swap/ in indeed wonderfully detailed. Appreciated by less-experienced mechs like me. But I'm curious how it disagrees with Cruiser54's classic tip #37 at https://cruiser54.com/?p=438 "37-Best injectors for Renix" --he recommends to use Volvo injectors, Bosch part number is 0 280 155 746. Granted, his focus on that site is the Renix years.

Two more days and it would have been 10 years since this topic was active.

Time passes... I contacted Trevor and he said his current recommendations are:

> Renix years:
> Bosch 823s (4 hole)
>
> 91+ years: (91 to 98 years require conversion plugs $15)
> Bosch 923s (4 hole) or
> Bosch 161s (12 hole)

I just bought a 1995 XJ and the previous owner had upgraded the fuel injectors to Bosch 910s (4 hole) a few years ago. One of them flaked out recently, and triggered a check-engine light. I guess it is stuck open, because it still runs without a miss. I'm wondering if I should replace just the one bad injector, or replace all 6. This picture shows one of the good ones being impedance-tested. (The bad one had no continuity at all.)

Good points. It is running bad, so I pulled the spark plugs and 5 are fouled.
I will replace all 6 injectors next.

I bought some reman 703's off ebay and when I got them, 3 were bad... or something. I messaged them and they sent me 3 more.
But it was fun trying to figure out which ones were bad after it was running like crap.

Win I took mine out and cleaned the gunk out of them; connected a battery up to the injectors on the work bench to hear the "click" telling me that they were working
