So, made the trip out to the junkyard today and only found 4 of the Neon 703 injectors. So took a stroll through Ford and found 8 of the 710 injectors, so I pulled them all and went back and got the 91-95 fuel rail. I kept the 4 Neon injectors (got them at a "discount" LOL) just in case. So I get home and I'm looking at the Ford ones, and I notice they only have one hole in the nozzle! I double checked the part numbers and they match. Did I miss something here? Are the Ford injectors one hole or 4?

Never mind. Did some research and apparently the ones I grabbed are from before the 4 hole change over... Go figure- leave it to Ford to keep the same part number for 2 different parts...

Next question. What cars/trucks do the Ford 710 injectors come in? I have also found a few other part numbers that look like the exact same injectors. Any clue as to these?

0280150943
0280150556

All are 19# injectors

I'd forget all those as they are a bit lower flow per minute than you want for an XJ and they are the old EV-1 style with the 4-ports close together. The newer EV-6 style (Like the 710's you mention) are a better design if you wish to stay with Ford and that flow rate. The yellow 710s and 700s came in a LOT of cars. You'll spot the the most and see them the easiest in the big V-8s like Crown Victorias. Look for older taxi cabs in junkyards. Also Taurus and Thunderbirds.

If you are determined to stick with the fat metal bodied EV-1 injectors grab some 0280155965s out of a Dodge which flow at about the same poundage and cc/min as stock XJ injectors but have the 4-port design.

Well i pulled 8 782 injectors without even realizing it thinking they were 784s, dont know why i didnt double check but oh well. Pulled both sets of 4 out of 00' 2.0 neons. they are significantly shorter it looks like so i dont think they are gonna work but by any chance would they fit? or will the fuel rail be off and not mount back up right?

They won't fit. The fuel rail brackets make the rail sit at a certain higth, so the injectors won't be seated correctly.

^^^ What Matt said. ^^^ UNLESS you have access to a metal shop and can somehow modify your rail to make it the correct shortness.

So I read this entire thread, and I'm pretty sure I need 703 injectors from a dodge neon 4banger? I see on ebay, there are several companies selling "upgraded" injectors for the Cherokee with 4 hole tips instead of 1 hole. Anyone use them?

Hey thanks No_Rdplz.. Injectors went in no problem (minus breaking a few brittle connectors). Great writeup!
