6.5in rear leaf springs?
I have a 6.5in loft on my xj and I知 replacing the leafs in the rear and I知 wondering what the best setup is. Should I run 4.5 springs, shackle relocation bracket, and a drop shack or should I run 6.5 in leafs with stock shackle? Or is there someway to run 5.5in leafs with the shackle relocation? Also Im looking for the best setup for rock crawling.

The best leaf setup to run will be a pack with many small leaves, opposed to less thicker leaves. It will flex better than thicker springs. Leaf spring liners will also help with flex.
Stock leafs are pretty flat. Lift springs typically have more arch to achieve lift while keeping the same eye to eye distance. The greater arch means the main leaf is longer which requires a longer shackle to allow the leaf to flex appropriately.
With a longer shackle and the same eye to eye distance on the spring, shackle relocation brackets will be required to keep an optimal angle.
I'd be looking for 4.5"-5.5" leafs with longer shackles with relocation brackets to get you to your 6.5" goal.

I would do 4.5" springs with the shackle relocating brackets, and adjustable shackles. I have 3" leafs with longer shackles and the relocation kit, it gave me about 6" lift in the rear. Which is perfect because it sits slightly higher than the front with 5.5" coil springs.

yep. ideally, a 2 inch lift shackle is best to setup with 4.5 inch leafs to get you your 6.5 inch lift. you can go with shackle relocations if you want, but a 2 inch lift shackle (4 inches bolt to bolt) will get you the best flex and amount of shackle swing as long as it doesn't hit your stock shackle boxes, this is where a shackle relocation comes in handy.
