My shackle is about 1" longer than in this pic and the same angle and spring location and I did notice that when wheeling it hangs down and decreased departure angle and I dragged the shackles on some rocks.

yes it does hang out there pretty good but i noticed it keeps me from dragging my tank as much!
I used the 43-711 springs and added an additional #3 leaf to make it close to a 43-711HD leaf pack. Mounted them in the rear hole of a 3 hole perch, so only had 1"stretch.
Worked prefect with the 35" Duratracs with extra clearance at the front of the wheel well. Great flex and ride.
In fact I bought a set of 43-711HD $149ea from ATS and another set of BoostWerks shackles and RC shackle relocation brackets for our other XJ. These will mount in the stock perch hole and these will give 2" stretch for more front wheel well clearance with the 37" MTRs. But this XJ will also be getting Notch Custom Flares so front opening clearance will be less of an issue.
