Default 5 lug to 8 lug wheel adapters

Have a set of 33x12.50x16.5 wheels and tires and I saw online that they make an adapter. What do you guys think about it? Will it work? Pros and cons? I wanna hear some of your input.

Seems good to me. Around my area 16.5" military tires are dirt cheap. I've run r.c. spacers like those adapters with zero problems.

No pros, all cons. The beads on 16.5 tires do not "lock" onto the rims like any other size does, so if you plan on airing down you will blow the bead off of the tires. Wheel adaptors are not good for the bearings and do tend to loosen up (start the flame war in 3,2,1...). I would not jump through a bunch of hoops, buy adaptors, and have a potential of having a wheel come off just because I happen to have some old tires sitting around. Take them to a used tire shop and see if you could trade or sell them.

I ran 5x5.5 to 5x4.5 wheel adapters before, it worked good, but buy a tube of loctite for the inner set of lugs.

Well my jeep is my work vehicle/weekend warrior. I only travel 10 miles to and from work and I never air them down so as long as I keep an eye on their pressure I shouldn't have a prob with the tire coming off the bead.
As for wheel bearings has anyone come across a good heavy duty brand that would hold up better than a stock replacement if and when I need to replace them?

Like said 16.5s run a crap bead design and you cant really air down below 20 psi without issues. That combined with the fact that 16.5" tires are made for heavy trucks and their load range reflects that. They wont fold over obstacles as well, they are heavier, and may ride a bit harsher.

The money is better spent towards the right wheels and tires for your truck than those spacers imo.
