switching from fuel injection to a carburetor on an XJ is like putting oars on a speed boat.

 

My only advice to you..... Make sure you brae your subframe accordingly.

 

96 and down F150 4x4 came with the M5OD behind the 302. For daily it would work good, but for high torque you would probably want the ZF.

I have 250K+ on my 4.9 with M5OD.

I had a 71 F150 4x2 that had a 3spd and that thing was bullet proof and I could bark the tires shifting into 3rd no problem.

I used to like the V8s but now I prefer the sound and torque of the I6, just wish I could find a way to put a 300 I6 Ford into my XJ, but since it is an 85 model, I would have to leave the fan sticking out past the grill LOL.
