I honestly dont think owning a jeep is cost effective.

lol neither do i. Throwing all kinds of money into something you're just going to break eventually and have to fix again But its an addiction...

yepp made one phone call and didnt even get a counter-offer on the price lol, Yea I got one hell of a deal on it since my buddy had it sitting in the field for a couple years and obviously didnt know what he had lol. He said this truck has a 4 cyl diesel in it and within 10 mins I was there to look at it. Seen what it was and my knees got weak, he said $100 and I choked on my heart lol 2 days later it was in my garage, He pulled the motor AND delivered it for me too

if youre going 4bt get a m715 and stick it in there

I think if you want diesel the VW TDI is more "common" to lean twards.

A friend of my moms sells work wagons with the 4bt's often. Last one was $1500.

Why compare the size of the 4bt to anything other than the motor it's replacing, the I6?

It can be done in a xj/mj chassis but you'll have to either be sky high with the lift or do custom work on the axle and/or oilpan. I've seen only one example and it's that one guy on YouTube. And no, swb jeeps are not the same in this aspect.

I am currently swapping a 4bt into an mj. The oil pan hangs down about 3 inches lower if you get it back towards the fire wall the sump is behind the axle.

Anything can be done with time and money, if you think you can afford it and are skilled enough to do the job/ enough cash to have it done then go for it. I personally think it would be badass. Throw some decent axles under it while you're at it though

I wouldn't use it because of its weight,Its 700 lbs same as a big block chevy vs the 500 and some change the stock 4.0 weights or a small block about same weight. If you want a diesel bad look in to the vw diesel swap it can be done a few jy and tj are running them.
