4.56 is stock gear ratio on 35s. 4.88s are lower and the rpm higher on the highway. Gas mileage on the highway with 4.88s and 35s sucks. So if you're dding and your speed limits are 75 I'd do 4.56. At 70 I'm spinning around 3k.

I do 90% of my driving in 35-50mph zones, and a lot of stop and go traffic. Also, with the added weight of armor and gear I'm kinda leaning towards getting 4.88s. I always wanted more get up and go anyway. The highest speed limits around here are 65. It might actually help me having such low gears because I may be known for doing 85 whenever I'm on the highway. It should slow me down haha.

Google "Jeep tire gearing chart" and this will give you an idea of your rpm's and gear / tire selection

I run 4.88s on 35s. Awesome in the trails and it gets up and goes. Just don't expect to go 80 on the highway everyday though. Some people say jeep cherokees could've used deeper gearing stock so some go deep when they gear. The straight six can handle the high rpm for extended highway use. (Has a shorter stroke I believe was the basis for the argument.).

Handles it fine just the gas mileage suffers because your spinning at higher rpm. So if you dd it that may not be a good option is all.

Keep in mind those charts only pertain to being in 1:1 gear ratio (No Overdrive). Old Tire Diameter / New Tire Diameter X Current Gear Ratio = Effective Gear Ratio. Just plug in different gear ratios into the Current spot untill the Effective ratio number becomes as close to stock ratio as possible. (Tire Diameter will have to be converted into inches) EX: Your Jeep came with 3.55:1 gearing, your stock tire size is 27", now you put 33" tires on. So 27/33x3.55=2.90:1 hence the "lack of power". Now lets regear to a 4.10 ratio. 27/33x4.10=3.35:1, not quite there yet... 4.56:1 ratio...27/33x4.56=3.73:1 gearing. So now you have one of two choices, go with either 4.10 for less takeoff but better fuel economy on the highway or 4.56 for a little better take off and only slightly higher rpms on highway.(Note some Xjs came equipped with a 3.73 ratio known as the Towing Package)

I regeared to 4.56 when I was still on 33's, I'm on 35's now and the 4.56 gears are great. If you're in a hilly area or tow a lot I'd recommend going with 4.88.

4.56 is still a great choice over stock gearing. Looking back, 4.88 would have been a better decision, but I'm plenty pleased with my 4.56 & 35's.

All I was asking was Yukon gears or Nitro?
And what are the warranties like?

You asked 4.56 or 4.88 and I think everyone has given plenty of info to help you choose a gear set.

That was the original I then asked what gear company everyone is using whether it might be Yukon or if nitro gears are any good.
