Id say 4.56, for a daily driver, 4.88 will suck on your mileage. But listen to the other guys, I don't know alot about gearing, but enoughs to know I wouldn't want 4.88s.

I would go 4.88's for a dd with 35's, and go with a spartan over the spool. I sure hope you aren't running stock axles also

You should go okay then, I would run aftermarket shafts in that d30 though. Or just be a little careful with the skinny pedal

4.56 on 35's will put you slightly under the power curve. I had an 88 XJ with 35's and 4.88 gears. It was perfect and I got about 18-19 mpg freeway.

I am running 35's on mine (with an automatic), HP30 in the front with Dana 44 in the rear both with moly axle shafts. I installed 4:88's....cruises okay on the highway, but works great in the dirt. I wouldn't go any lower if your gonna hit the pavement with it, and wouldn't want to run any longer a gear with those 35's in the rocks...will seriously drag your power down!
