Right now I have a 3in rough country lift (new leafs, coils, shocks, lower control arms and I have a rc steering stabilizer) on 31s and I wanna go higher... So I thought about adding a 2in to that (coil soacers and shackles) but I have some concerns. 1) will my shocks still work with the extra 2" or when I flex are they gonna stop before the my max. 2) will my lower control arms work still as well. 3) what else would I need to do? I'm assuming new breaklines atleast in the rear, a transfer case drop, ...and that's all I can think of ATM. I'm not doing this right away few things I wanna do first before I go up again but I wanna be prepared and get what I need BEFORE I start lol

At 5" of lift your control arms are going to be at a steep angle, you should think about doing drop bracket or long arms.
You'll just have to measure your shocks once you get to that point, you'll probably will need longer ones though
breaklines will need to delt with. TC drop, or better yet a SYE, at 5" I'm pretty sure you'll need an adjustable track bar. The steering might need some attention too.

purchase some used control arms from a JK, front uppers and lowers and make some shimmable brackets that mount a little further back on the unibody / frame

Don't do it. Low cog is where it's at. Higher yields little advantage over lower (within reason) for most situations, other than deep mud and tall rocks. But 2" isn't goin to give you too much more clearance. Your axels are still gonna be same height, correct? And dragging your axels thru mud makes for STUCK! Especially on open diffs, unless your locked? Idk, my .02...
yea im not 100% if im still gonna do it because itll only be alittler cheaper than just getting a whole new 6.5" lift. i like the way the bigger jeeps look but i dont have any problems with any obsticals so far and it climbs steep hills like nothing right now

No doubt.. Pics?
Search "low COG suspension setup tips/tricks" see what you think. Like I said, getting axles higher off ground should be priority for rocks and mud, tires are the way to do this. Spend money on tires, locker/s and skid plating and go farther than with just a big lift..

Also, either way will add stress to steering, breaking, and drive train parts. Beefier tie rods, u joints, full disk breaks, etc... will all come into play at some point. Just be sure what you wanna do first...
