Default 33x12.5 on 15x7 wheels

Can this work? Any probs if I go for it? My buddy is going to 35s and handing down his 33s. Any thoughts? I am running 32s now. Axles are stock but upgraded to ZJ steering and steering box brace.

Thanks

stock wheels? You'll need spacers.

You probably will have to trim a bit / add bumpstop length to prevent rubbing

I'm already trimmed and aware of the bumpstops. Just wondering the affects or possibility of the 12.5" of tire / 7" of wheel ratio. And my wheel have 4" backspacing

yea you should be fine they recommend a 15x8 for a 12.50 but i know plenty of people who run em on a 15x7

a 15x7 rim will make the tires taller instead of getting the full 12.5 width.

yea you have to be more cautious about poppin a bead when airing down if you use the 15x7 not gonna be able to run as low as a psi as you would on a 15x8 or 15x10

in my expeiances no. but i guess if you air down too much the bead could become unseated.

i have 15x7 and till this week have been running 33x12.50 have had them aired down to 8 psi and never popped a bead. i have 32x11.50 now only reason i went down was cause these tires were free and i needed new ones. with the 12.5 i had to run like 15 psi on the street for them to wear even cause the 7 inch width will cause them to wear the middle out

Actually its typically the opposite. narrower rim hold the bead better, the sidewall pull helps keep the bead seated.

thats bull... the wider the rim the easier it is to pop a bead cuz its not holding it has tight... a 7" rim is gonna hold a bead much better than a 10" inch rim...
