Looking to go up to 33's once my 31's wear out. Probably summer next year. Considering my existing setup in my build thread, I need a few reccomendations from the group:
1) Going to go with Bushwackers or Napier flares. Will I still need to bump stop? And will I need to remove the factory door trim?
2) Also going to pull the rear sway bar and get disconnects for the front at this time. Will this require extended brake lines?
3) Will 33x12.50's fit on my factory 15x7's? I do have 2" spacers, but I know wheel width is a consideration. If not, what is the recommended wheel size if I buy steelies? And, someone please confirm the back spacing that will retain my current stance of factory w/ 2" spacers.

Two members rides you can reference for both questions. 1st off check out Gee Oh Dee's build because he has 33s on a 3" lift. Yes you will have to trim bumpstop to keep the meat outta the fenders. 2nd, check out Dukie's build (project Danger Cart) for the tire spacers. He's running 33x12.50s on stock rims. All your questions can be awnsered by looking through those two builds. Any more questions just ask them and they'll be glad to help.

Lot of variables.
On bump stops. You should always make sure your bump stops are long enough to keep the tires from rubbing after you have the flares on and have trimmed.
Brake lines. Some guys get away with just the stock lines stretched and relocated. I had to buy extended lines because I am set up for more flex. Yes I run a 3" lift on 33’s.
With stock rims and backspacing the tire will rub your lower control arms. 1.5" spacers or rims with that amount extra should give you the clearance you need for the lower control arms.

And yes, I would get extended brakelines if disconecting swaybar and wheeling. Look it up because I forgot but I baught some GMC pickup brakelines that are direct fit and 6inches longer for like $20 at autozone.

15" x 8" are factory also (LJ). And hubcentric. And weigh half of a steelie.

Pattern is 5 x 4.5
Backspacing is slightly more than XJ wheels. I run 1" hubcentric spacers (don't tell anybody).
Hub - center bore is 71.5mm same as XJ. This is also important when looking at wheels.

I did on my last xj
It was a bit sluggish..
33s definitely need gears. 4.10s if you have a manual or 4.56 if your auto.
I ran 35s on 355s in my 00 build.
talk about slow.
I don't care too much for hauling *** on the street though

I hate to admit it but her jeep has way more ***** than my YJ lol Ive been in both auto and standard XJs on 33s and couldnt complain. I wouldnt even consider a gear change with 33s.
