guess i've never thought of driving in 3rd... i have stock axles and 32x11.50s on my jeep with a 4.5 inch lift and i drive 60 miles to work and back 5 times a week right now. I've had no problems... should i be worried? i just bumped up from 31s like 3 months ago...

I run 32's with stock gearing everyday, and on long trips. No problems. In town or on hills I run 3rd gear. Flat freeway I run od still.

I would change your oil in your motor and Tranny for sure. Don't use overdrive if it keeps kicking down. 3rd is really all you need.

Other than that I wouldn't worry about it unless you have more problems.

Like I said I wheel and take long trips with 32's and 3:55 gears. Even pull a 16ft landscape trailer from time to time.
I agree. Ive been running 33's on stock gears for a year now. Plenty of 100mile+ trips, driven every day in the city and highway, and even took a 1,500 mile road trip with a fully loaded cab and a 250qt cooler full of ice and food on the hitch last december. It hasent given me any problems(knock on wood). Ive recently added a tranny cooler just because it cant hurt. I dont understand why everyone is making it sound like 33's and 3.55's is a hangmans noose for our transmissions.

ive run into the same problem minus the stuck in one gear thing or what ever you had. found out the dealer put too much trans fluid in it. it came up through the trans dip stick and blew oil all over my bell housing, exhaust etc. anyhow, if youve already found a solution, i wouldnt know from the two pages of **** talking that the haters are doing...good luck with your jeep brother.

I had the tranny replaced. My original one was quite literally FRIED. To this day I still small ATF. I do plan on attempting a rebuild on it. I ended up with a new-to-me 40k ish AW4 and I added a tranny cooler. Still going to regear and I will be attempting it myself, with others help. I will be regearing other vehicles later in life, so I gotta start somewhere. 4.56s from Motive seem to be what I am going for.
