Default 3" lift on XJ

I want to know what type of schakles? What is the best way for just a 3" lift (front &back). I don't want to buy a lift kit.

Just get a lift. It's more work and money, but much safer. You'll need to replace the shocks anyways.

And please don't start the same thread in multiple forums.

Also, get full leaf packs. The rear leafs sag really bad after a few years. My '92 has a 3inch with an AAL kit, my leafs are flat.

RC has a decent priced one. And they come with the shocks or you can get different shocks whatever you prefer.

I am about to purchase the Rubicon Express 3 1/2" Super Ride short arm lift kit for $590.00. It does not come with the shocks, which I like. That way I can choose the ones I want. Comes with new lower control arms and its full leaf springs for the rear.
