You'll be fine. I just lift my jeep a couple of weeks ago. It was hard and a pain and took a long time, but it was fun, and I learned a lot.

Think I can get away with just a ratchet and *** impact tools?

That's the thing, I don't have an impact gun..honestly..my shock mount bolts are smooth enough to get out with a ratchet...that's why I'm asking if I can get away with just a socket set

You'll be fine without a impact since you're not removing the leaf packs. And you don't need to unbolt the sway bar at the unibody itself, just the two bolts on top of the links. One on each side.

Other than that it sounds like you have it down! I'm on my iphone so I can't see if you have a build thread or not, but if you don't have one now's a good time to make one. Take some before and after pics for us, maybe some during pics if you're patient enough (i wasn't lol). Good luck man!

Your not going to need an impact gun but down the road i would invest in a nice one they become handy when getting big bolts loose

Like everyone says, you don't need an impact gun, ask me how I know...

Hell, the only tools I had was a socket set and a breaker bar. I had to barrow a jack and stands... I am a very novice mechanic, and I did it, and my kit prolly had more parts (LCA's, shackles, etc). You'll be fine. Have fun and learn something

Sometimes its tough to just jump in if it's your only ride.

Alright, One thing...you guys say I can add the leaf with the pack still on the unibody...will someone explain this? Do I just unbolt them from the rear shackle pull down a bit, undo the center pin and throw the leaf in there? I know I have to take off the ubolts but Im still unclear to how to do it on the jeep..thanks guys!

I just did full leafs on my XJ, so my info here might not be 100% but from what i have seen you should be able to undo the ubolts, undo the shock, and tap the axle, or the axle should just drop, so you want to make sure to have a jack under it.

from there with the axle lowered off the leaf spring. you will want to C-Clamp the spring pack, cut the pin, remove the leaf c-clips or whatever they are called, take the leaf pack apart.

then you would add your AAL under the very top leaf of your stock pack, and put the rest back together, but again as said you want c-clamps to help with this and to keep it together while putting in the New center pin and the new leaf clamps. then you can jack the axle back up to the pack and put in the new shock.
