Default 3" budget lift, is it worth it?

I am really wanting to do a lift on my truuck, and I have been looking at doing a 3" budget lift. I don't plan on running any super huge tires or anything right now. I will be rolling on stock wheels and may try to go a little bigger tire size wise. Not much, just the tallest tire I can run with the stock suspension, to have a little more ground clearance. But I have seen a few jeeps around with the 3" kits and it doesn't look like it makes a big difference. And I'm not looking for a night and day difference, just enough to where its taller than stock and people could tell it has a lift. I'm also trying to decide on which tires I can run also. And I'm not working with a ton of money. So, if anyone has any pics of your trucks with the 3" kit, I'd love to see them. THANKS!!!

Yeah and that is the aal (add a leaf) suspension from rusty's which I believe sells for $265. I also added tubular lower control arms, which is not a necessity and didn't raise the lift any more. And tires are tires, kind of expensive I have Firestone destination ats and they retail around 160 a piece. I'm my opinion my jeep doesn't feel like a sad stock jeep. To be honest pictures don't do this lift as much justice as seeing the before and after personally.

Ive been doing some looking around for the last few days and I found a 3" shackle kit with the front coil spring spacers for like 139 plus shipping. I don't have a ton of places to go play at around here, so I'm going for the look right now rather than off road function. I also drive it daily, 20 miles one way to work. I know the gas mileage will suffer from bigger tires, but I'm just getting started on it.

Try looking for a used lift. There seems to be a lot of guys who buy a 3 inch just to lift it again in the near future. I got all of my lift. Lift with aal installed in a stock leaf pack, front coils, all 4 shocks, brake drop bracket, and fabtech lower control arms. And slightly used 31x10.5 tires, $350 total! So start looking on here and Craigslist it worked for me. If you total my whole lift up your looking at around 1100 without shipping and tire installation

Agreed, I found a rc 3'' kit on an xj at the jy. Got the leaf packs, coils, and swaybar discos for under around $100. (would give exact, but I got the coils and discos one day for $30, then the next day i got the leaf packs, and the 8.25 rear end for 150)

I dont know if by a "3 inch budget boost" you mean add a leafs but you can buy just 3 inch lift coils and full leaf packs(for 3 inches of lift) and then find some cheap shocks and have a very functional 3 inch kit AALs sag easily, ride rough, and you can find some cheap leafs and coils. I know you are saying you wanna do a better lift later but for less money than a AAL kit you could do a GOOD 3 inch kit that you wont need to replace unless you wanna go higher and even then you could just do a coil spacer and rear shackle and some new Control Arms

Lol, yea, but I got my income tax money is burning a hole in my pocket. And I'm working with a limited budget of around $350 for a lift and not much more than that for tires. Gotta hit the jy this weekend to get a power steering pump anyway.

Oh ok well that is ike 360 plus rustys has steeeeep shipping unless you live really close to them but thats just an option even if you dont get those exact parts look on ebay, craigs lift, collins bros jeep, etc. but i would HIGHLY reccomend not getting AAL and getting the full leafs

The guys at my local performance shop can get me the rough county kit with shocks, control arms, everything including shipping for $400. And I can have it in 2-3 days. So I'm thinking that's a pretty good deal. I'm still trying to see if there's a better deal out there
