the clean black jeep above was a 3" bare bones lift on 31's with 3.75bs rims. Put it on years ago and thought i was the biggest badass around haha (which i was!!!) But then youll slowly want more and more little things...3 inch lifts are gateway drugs!

again, thanks for your knowledge and advice, this is all new to me,

A lot of people only lift 2-3" because it allows for larger tires at minimal cost. After 3" a lot of the stock steering and suspension components start needing to be changed to accommodate for the lift. If you are looking for the cool daily driver looks and 3" is the way to go.

No, that guy has 5" and 31"s

Beyond 3" the brake lines become tight. You will need to replace the rear brake lines both e-brake and soft line, and extend the front lines. Otherwise they act as limit straps and will not allow the suspension to cycle.

IMHO, I think it looks just right with the 3.5" lift and the 31's. They don't look small, and they aren't crammed in there. Also, the 3.5" lift makes it look like a lifted xj. Totally understand what you mean about the "Not looking lifted" with a 2" lift.

Thanks for more pics fella's! Much appreciated! 3.5" with 31's is exactly what I'm gonna do! I'll have to do the SYE and DS too, but that's the lift & wheels i want, so I'm not gonna settle.

Wow! Talk about a resurrection. This thread has been dead for nearly 4 yrs. And the guy you're asking a question of hasn't been on here in nearly a year...lol!

They look like a Goodyear Wrangler for mud though.

Ain't that the truth, I thought a 3" lift and 31s were all I would want, now I am looking into lifting it more, regearing, and putting 35s on it.

No worries, it's just funny when it happens. I saw one last night that had been dead for 7.5 years resurrected.

Glad you got the answer you wanted.
