3.5 RE Easy Ride Lift.
Hey guys, my wife is wanting a lift on her 99xj and we ordered her kit. Apparently there is more stuff that is "recommended" for the kit. Besides shocks, what do we really need? Also, this is a daily driver that my kids will riding in and the idea of the death wobbs doesn't sound good to me. How do i combat that issue.

Just buy a nice set of shocks and a good adjustable track bar if the kit doesn't come with one. If you have driveline vibes then get an sye and if you get death wobble, address the issue then. Can't fix something that isn't broken. For shocks I would recommend bilstien 5100's or the RE mono tubes. Track bar I would recommend the IRO double shear or the RE. And if your 99 has the origional front axle its not low pinion.

put the lift on first and go from there.
i have a 3.5" i put on my '97. my axle stayed center, and i didn't get any vibes.
if your axle gets pulled towards the driver's side, then you will need an adjustable track bar to center it again. i prefer to keep the stock trackbar over a cheap aftermarket. so if you need an adj track bar, make sure it's a good one.
if you get driveshaft vibes, then either get a 1" t-case drop (basically spacers for your t-case) or do a slip yoke eliminator. If you're not going to really go off-road, do the tc drop.
some nice shocks is all i'd say. and bear in my mind, if you have some worn suspension/steering components, the lift will amplify them. so you may end up needing ball joints, bushings, etc, but you were going to need them anyway.

KTM, are you advising that the SYE will more then likely not be needed on a 99 xj.
Oh, and another thought? My XJ shows that it is a 2000 on the title but the door plate shows 1999. Im just assuming that the jeep is a late production 99. I am buying everything assuming its for a 99.

At 3.5" lift his lp axle will be fine.
Sye has nothing to do with the front axle and the drive shaft. Sye is for the rear.
I guess I will go ahead and get a SYE. Im a little concerned with the fact that I have a late 99 model xj after reading one of the recent post. Has to do with the valve size but they were not clear on why its an issue? Thats my dang point. Is it a 2000 or a 99. Again fella's thanks for your imput.
