Default 3.5 lift question

I have a stock xj and i want to put about a 3.5in lift on it ive looked around quite a bit and found one i think that i like its the rubicon express super ride with rear springs im not planning on doing alot of wheeling and on their site it says SYE/CV Driveline recomended, ive also heard about transfer case drops. Its my daily driver and i want it to drive smooth and not vibe do i need that stuff or not. And if any one else has this lift or any recomendation please tell me cause im new to this stuff.

thanks

Only way to know is if you install the kit first. Every car is different. You may be lucky and have no vibes

I'll put it this way. I don't have an sye... doesn't mean I shouldn't have one but don't and my jeep drives ok.... its definitely on the listt hough.... With 3.5 inches (especially if you're doing any shackles lift) you can get by.... like the past guy said try it out and add one later if you need it.

run the RE SuperFlex 3.5" lift with no SYE. I won't say that there is no need for it also but it would be a good thing to start preparing for. I have little to no vibes till around 75-80... then after that it shakes like crazy. I, however, don't normally drive above 70 so I have little to no troubles.

My '98 vibed pretty bad with the RE 3.5" lift. I built my own TC drop and it helped some. Later removed the TC drop and installed the SYE and it's much better. Be advised the RE kit usually runs bigger than advertised. I got nearly 5" lift with their 3.5" SuperFlex kit.

Hey there,

A member above me said it best. The BEST thing you can do is buy your lift, install it, and then decide if you need a SYE. 3.5" lift is very mild and shouldnt need a SYE but then again some people have expereinced vibrations. Myself, i have a 6.5" LA kit and not SYE, no custom driveshaft, dont even have shims and i have little to no vibrations.

Best advice, buy your kit and install it, then decide if you need to spend the extra money.

Will

If you are going to wheel the jeep then yes because the extra flex is nice. If its more a DD then now save your money for other things. Just my opinion.
