I am considering putting a supercharger in my XJ. I’m looking at one particular kit where it’s sidemounted and does not affect the closure of the hood.. anybody installed a supercharger? What kit do you think I should get? And is the kit complete?

Just keep in mind if you're installing a supercharger on a tired, high mileage engine you'll soon see where the weak link is...Bearings, piston rings, head gasket etc...6-8 psi boost will find it's way through the engine and show you quickly... IMO, At the very least the engine should have a refresh with anything over 80-90,000 miles getting something like that...Otherwise you're just pushing the boost into the crank case.....I'm sure you've noticed most kits are designed for newer jeeps not 20-30 year old high mileage units...The old inline tractor engine will only do so much..
