2000 xj rear shocks.
Bought this rig partially done. Po swapped in a 8.8. Rear shocks on it might have 3" of room for compression. How do I measure so I get the right ones?

Measure between the mounting point on the frame to the mount bolt on the axle with the jeep on level ground. Thats your baseline. Shocks are listed by fully compressed and fully extended dimensions. Find one that has approx 5 inches above and below that baseline. If you dont offroad you can go a little less on the extend dimension with a little more on the compress if needed
Will do. Thanks for the info. Looks to me like they just bolted them to tbe sway bar bracket on the 8.8. I think I'm gonna cut out a set of shock mounts. Weld them on then order the new shocks.
. Thanks again.
