Default 2 inch lift and 30 inch tires?

I am in the process of buying a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Its 4wd, auto, and has a 4.0 in it. It is bone stock. Im looking to make it a daily driver to commute around 70 miles per day for work.

Its comes with a 2 inch that that it not installed in in the means of shackles in the rear and coil spring spacers in the front. Im going to install the lift once i get it. I also have some some 17 inch pro comp wheels. They have a back spacing of 4 3/4. The tire I plan to run is the Cooper Disoverer ATW3 in the size of 265/65/17, which essentially measures out at 30.61 inches tall and 10.60 inches wide.

My question is can you run a "true" 30 inch tire on a 2 inch lift? This will strictly be a street driven Jeep with no trail use nor will it be flexed out ever.

If anyone is running a similar set up, please post pics.

The jeep probably needs new leaf springs if the previous owner was going with shackles to try and bring the suspension back up. May consider getting new lifted springs instead.

To your question. I don't think those tires will fit. That is not a true 30 inch tire. That is very nearly the measurement of 31s. People run 3 inches of lift with 31s and still have to trim and bumpstop in some cases.

Will you need adapters for your rims as well or are they 5x4.5

Yea, the wheels are the correct bolt pattern. The suspension is probably a little worn given the age and the mileage (220k). I just don't want to put the the lift on it and buy new tires and them look too small.

Gonna be real worn at that milage haha! Honestly man you might be better served just getting new springs. Of course check the condition of them first, but if they havemt been replaced it is probably time.

And my setup on my jeep now is 2 inch lift with 235/75r15 which are about 29 inches. They look fine. I just don't think those tires will fit. Perhaps since your not going to offroad at all, just put some big bumpstops. But that will stop you from any fun if you do see a dirt road you want to explore haha.

That tire should weigh in very close to the same size as the 31x10.50 bf goodrich that the '93 in your signature had

Do the wheels fit with no adapters or spacers as your over max BS now at 4.75" by 3/4". With a 2" lift "IF" your springs and leafs are in good condition to start with they still may not clear, if sagged forget about it.
