Default 2 inch bds lift.. extending to 4 inches of lift, do i need to upgrade shocks again?

Hey I bought a 2000 xj that has a 2 inch bds lift.

Kit comes with 2 inch coils in front with upgraded shocks(not sure if they are longer or same as stock).

I am going up to 4 inches by way of 2 inch coil spacers up front. Should I need to upgrade shocks again?

I know that the shocks feel really stiff in the front already. Not sure if that's just the way these jeeps are or not.

What you guys think, are these bds shocks sufficient?

Thanks

You will also need LCA's and you'll need to get an adjustable track bar, or relocate the factory one. And you should extend the brake lines. What are you doing to lift the rear the extra 2

Thanks for getting back;

What's LCAs? And track bar?

In the rear since my leaf springs are sagged I was going to get a set of stock replacement leafs and then use 4 inch blocks or drop bracket?

Thoughts?

LCA's=lower control arms
track bar is what keeps the front axle centered. If you don't do anything about it, your front axle will be like 2 inches to the driver side.
There is a diagram around here somewhere but I can't find it. Use google for that.

Do not run 4 inch blocks(or blocks at all) they will cause axle wrap and make your springs wear out quickly. I highly suggest you get new lift springs for the rear. No matter what you do, it won't be real cheap.(which I'm assuming you were going for)

ok are these likely the only things im gonna need to change if I go 4 inch?

What if I go 3 inch or 3.5 inch, would I still have to change out track bar, control arms, and sway bar links?

I want you guys to know that im not doing this for any type of extreme off-roading. Just little bit of trail riding and for show on the road. So wont be putting my jeep under any large amount of flexing or anything.

Go with the BDS 4.5" SA kit. I love mine, holds up to all the abuse I can throw at it, and came with ALL the parts, including swaybar disconnects, brake lines and a Tcase drop/axle shims. Also, if you want a slightly lower/better ride you can remove leafs from the rear springs and BDS will still cover the warranty. you will pay for It, but it's worth it IMO.

Sounds like you are set on cheaping out.
Whats in the rear now? Blocks, add a leaf, or 2" lift packs?

At 4" youll need shocks, longer brake lines, lower arms, possibly an SYE...

Lots of things to consider.

Rear add a leaf, which is sagged, so need to replace leafs.

I have a set of 2.2 nitro shocks from rough country already to accommodate 4 inches or so, and transfer case drop kit.

Need to change control arms, sway bar links, brake lines, and track bar with 3 or 3.5inches? Whats SYE?
thanks

you can use your stock control arms with 3inches, but you will still need a track bar.

You can straighten out the hard lines to get like 3 inch longer brake lines. Also at 3.5" your front axle will be pulled back an inch or so. But it should be do able. Keep the t case drop in case you need it
