1999 4.0 into a 2001 XJ????
Hey guys,
On my local CL I found a recently rebuilt 4.0 from a 1999 XJ for sale for $500.
Will this motor work? I thought I read that the 2000-2001 motors were slightly different? 193HP instead of 190HP?

It should work just fine.
The extra power that came from the 2000-2001 models was from a revised intake manifold. Nothing serious. a popular mod is to take a intake manifold from an 00-01 and put it on a pre-00. so it should work the other way.
