Default 1990 xj trail rig to dd

I have a 1990 xj with 190k miles. The only thing that makes it a trail rig is that i have another vehicle, and the interior on this jeep is ruff. It has a 6.5'' lift, 35's, t-case drop, and a soon to be rebuilt back axle. that is the only thing that sets it apart from stock.

I will soon have to use it as a dd because my main vehicle will soon be dead. replacing an allison transmission is not the cheapest thing in the world.

My jeep can be used as a dd atm, but it is very squirrely on the road, and its a dog on accelteration.

I read in another thread a guy mentioned that with a long arm kit and a sye there would be an improvment.

Thoughts, and suggestions? please help before my truck explodes and i need this as a dd . Thanks ^_^

long arms, an alignment, and regearing will make it a nicer DD.

With a 6.5in lift Id def go with a SYE if you have any vibrations. I have one installed on mines and get no vibs up to 85 and I didnt try going faster lol. As far as getting it to ride smoother longarms like mentioned will help with the ride a bit. Also check your bushings and steering geometry. A lot of the squirreliness (<is that even a word?) can be eliminated with the right steering geometry. Also do you have an adjustable trackbar or relocated trackbar? A lift that high I would assume had the trackbar relocated or adjusted to recenter the axle.

Steering geometry is important. Make sure the track bar and drag link are at the same angle to avoid bump steer. Definately helps with road manners
