Default 130 watt driving/fog light wiring question.

I wired up two 130 watt lights and one is brighter then the other.

I followed this wiring diagram

Only thing I didn't do was use a fuse. Also power is coming from the fuse block under the dash.

What did I do wrong and what can I do to make the other brighter?

pull the power from the battery and see if that helps.

So screw the fuse block and run a power wire off the switch back to the battery?

Plus I didn't use 16/18 gauge wire I used 12/14 gauge cuz that was the problem with my old old ones I had.

and try to use thick wire for the power supply, always keep the ground short as possible too.

Do not run anything directly between the switch and battery. That's the point of the relay is to keep the high amps away from your finger lol. Definitely run a fused power line from the relay to your battery instead of your fuse block.

The grounds off the lights are only a few inches and same with the ground off the relay.

If one is brighter than the other, its not a relay. Check the connections of the dim light. You prolly have a bad ground connection.

I did the conversion for my head lights because I hated how other Cherokees have one bright light. Now my fogs are the same way HID kits

I had nothing but wiring bs issues running my Hellas. Id have to say check the grounds and make sure they are all set, same gauge wire as well. I really don't think where you are running the switch from could alter just one light and not the other since it's a single wire but I could be wrong.

Maybe there two different bulbs in the lights. They are used. Who knows what the previous owner did. I'll have to check to make sure there all 130watt.

If they are an H-3 bulb they will have the wattage stamped right on the tab. If one is 55 and the other 100 well....

Also, either use a fuse or carry a fire extinguisher.

You mentioned you have 4 of these lights. Try swapping the whole "dim" light for one of the others. Again, I think you seriously have a ground problem.
