Finishing up my electric fan conversion from FFdynamics.com:

I'm trying to find a good 12v ignition source (one that only has power when the key is on) in the engine bay to run to my relay. I tried using some of the contacts in the fuse box behind the battery but the fans keep running after I've removed the key. Any ideas?

I know that there are a couple of ignition slots on the interior fuse box. I used one of them for a 12 volt cigarette lighter splitter with a USB charger. It works great! All you have to do is crimp a spade terminal to your wires and plug it into the slot! I don't really know of any ignition connections in the engine bay, you'd have to start splicing apart your wiring loom and looking for an orange wire to splice into which I don't recommend. Just run your positive wire up the loom and through the firewall and plug it in
I have the same unit, but i want to add the led switch they gave for a manual over ride, but I have a/c. the instructions state i can still use it with the a/c wire, but i need a one way diode... anyone know what diode i should get? This is what the instructions state this, but the radio shack kit had no clue.
First option is for Cherokee owners that do not have A/C, it can be used as a manual override when used with the Green A/C wire on the control module to turn the fans on for street driven vehicles, (for Cherokee owners with A/C, this switch can still be used this way, but you will have to take a trip to your local Radio Shack and purchase a one way diode for less than a $1, tell the Radio Shack tech what you are trying to do and he will give you the right part number that you need).

You need a rectifier diode rated for at least 1amp at 12volts. Radioshack part numbers: IN4001, IN4002, IN4003, IN4004, or IN4005.

I ran a wire to the radio inside the car and connected to accesory wire with a inline fuse. it was easy to find the wire because i have an aftermarket radio.
