My 96 XJ is pretty stock. No special electrical needs so far. I recently got my brush guard on, and would like to mount a set of 100w KC drive lights to it. Can I support this without worrying about the stock alternator being enough?
I will also be adding a headlight harness and H4 conversion kit, which I think I'll be running at 65W.
(I want to remain with halogens because I need the heat for the snow and ice up here, and I want the front end to look old school).
Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

I ran two 100w KC's on my rig with the original stock alternator without any problem even at night with all the other lights on. Im still running the original stock alternator but have switched to LED front lighting. I don't think you'll have a problem man

I run a set of Rally 800's with 130w bulbs, never had a problem. Originally they had 150w bulbs that can't be found anymore. Throw in a amped up stereo you might need to upgrade though.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Stereo is just a decent store bought head unit (built in 100w across 4 channels), with no plans of going bigger.

Not to hijack but I asked a question a while back under aftermarket electronics and had zero feedback. I'm installing 2 100w lights and 2 50w. That's a little over 24 amps. I was wondering who's running how many lights with stock alternator. Also if anyone has any idea how many amps I can safely use before needing a higher amp alternator.

In fact I've already just done so. New battery and new cables. Pos to starter and PDC and neg to block and fender. Probably should have done alternator to PDC but it's not too late. Not only were they much needed but I was holding off on installing lights until after they were replaced. TY
