Looking for a 1 ton or real heavy duty steering setup but I can't find any thatd don't require modification.

this will be my daily driver so I want to maintain a nice tight responsive steering but I don't want to have to upgrade later or fix broken parts which is why I wanna go HD.

so far the curry setup looks like it doesn't require modification but I'm not sure. Any brand you guys can recommend that are direct fit?

What is so hard/wrong with enlarging or reaming a hole?

Thats a minor modification.

Any 1-ton is going to require you to drill and ream the knuckles and pitman arm. That's kinda the idea behind 1-ton TRE set ups...they're bigger and stronger than stock. If you don't want to drill and ream the knuckles (which isn't hard in the first place) I'd suggest you just do a V8 ZJ tie rod and MOOG TRE's. Not really worth the money IMO to go with something else if you're not going 1-ton.

My buddy has a Currie that doesn't require mods. Although that might mean we should call it HD instead of 1-ton. Anyway, I think it might be this one http://www.4wheelparts.com/Brakes-St..._pn=CURCE-9701

I also suggest just doing a zj tie rod. quick bolt on strength. when you're ready for something that ditches the god awful y-link setup it's going to require some work

Good lord, for that price you can get a 1-ton setup, pay for someone to install it, and still have money left over.

I have the IRO kit and really like it. Only required drilling for installation. No dead spot. Drives great and it is really beefy.

Yep but if you get a new axle or upgrade to a 44 that kit will switch right over as many time as you want.

I think that the savings vs axle swap ratio might take a little time there

Eh maybe but he ask about a kit that required no modifications. I guess the IRO kit doesn't but it annoys me how the drag link drops down below the tie rod. I'm to picky.
