Default 01 xj liftt

So I am currently in the process of putting a 3.5" lift into my 01 xj. I have the leaf springs, coil springs, u bolts and other hardware, new shocks, transfer case drop kit. Could anyone tell me what other parts are absolutely necessary for this lift to work. Jeep is a daily driver, so it doesn't have to have parts that are meant for purely off road use. Thanks in advance

Google can tell you. Or look through the sticky at the top of the page.

Some sort of aftermarket control arm would be nice - do you have that?

Track bar - it is the bar that locates the front axle side to side. It will be too short after you lift it and will push your front axle out the driver's side wheel well.

Sway bar end links - the old ones will be too short, the sway bar will be rotated downward into the coil springs. You can buy the quick disconnects if you plan on four wheeling a lot. Or you can cut your existing ones and weld a piece of 1/2" round stock into it.

Brake hoses - the rear will most definitely be short, there is a stock line from another vehicle that swaps in, search the site. The front lines you can probably get away with straightening the hard lines to effectively make the hose longer, search the site for details.

Bump Stops - are they still there? If you are going to larger tires you will need to extend the bumpstops to prevent the tire from contacting the body under full stuff.

Control arms - the caster will be way out of whack when you lift it, causing the steering to wander. You can likely get away with shimming the LCAs, check out this link. If there isn't enough adjustment (there is room for about 1/2" of shims), then you will need longer LCAs. You can buy fixed length arms that arm longer for cheap, or spend the coin for adjustable if you plan to go higher later.

Driveshaft angle - I know you are putting a transfer case drop. Check your rear driveshaft angles while you are under there. The angle of the pinion and the transfer case should be equal to cancel each other out. If they are different, you will have a vibration in the rear. Shims can be put between the axle and the leaf spring to bring the angles back where they should be.

Adj. Track Bar and a sway bar disconnect for later when you do go off road and you need it to adj. for the lift height also.

Brake lines are fine all you need to do is relocate the bracket and then you will have the needed length.

You may or may not need a transfer case drop kit as it varies with the XJ.
