i have an 88 cherokee that i took over in 2001. listed below is the very first repair that i had done and definitely wasn't the last: 2 resurfaced front rotors, calipers replaced w/ re-manufactured ones, new distributor cap & rotor, new gas filter, ignition wires, air filter, pcv hoses assembly, breather hose harness, spark plugs, vacuum harness, new lower radiator hose, engine & transmission mounts were replaced with new ones. The right front wheel bearing/hub assembly was replaced with new ones. 4 new Laramie tires (215/75r/15) for better gas mileage.

Well if we are talking in relation to jeeps in general I'd have to say replacing the battery and side marker light bulb on my YJ and as far as first mod goes is a 3rd party centerforce II clutch in favor of the OEM one. Although in terms of Cherokees I haven't yet had the pleasure.

I got my Jeep in April and so far all I've done is put a full Thule bike rack on top in place of the factory rack. My co-workers say it makes it look more "Jeepy". I haven't done any maintenance to it yet besides an oil change or two and I've put over 11k miles on it. I hope that is an indication of its reliability to come. Next up is a 2.5" to 3" lift and a set of 30" tires. That is if I can convince the lil' lady.

first repair i did to it was when my friend Katie owned it. The starter went out, i replaced it, 2 days later the NSS went out so i bypassed it with a remote starter button. didn't want to have her buy a $230 part. Now that i found a tech article on how to clean them, I'm going to try that the next day that Dallas doesn't have Seattle-like weather. Also changed to semi-synthetic and reattached the OPSU wire which she said hasn't worked in 40,000 miles!

first mod was Baja lights on the front bumper. Hopefully with this paycheck i can do a CB radio and change the fluids.

First Repair- Fixing the dent that happened from the PO in the driver fender/along driver doors. As well as getting the speakers to work up front. Radiator shortly after.

First mod-painted the rockers/trim down on the doors with rhino liner, then the bumpers and installing a gastank skid and trailer hitch

To come- Armor and front hitch around Xmas time, tires and lift next summer if all goes as planned

first repairs were: getting rid or the system that was in it. i dont like systems, they take up my storage room. then i took of the butterfly sticker the girl had on it. then t-stat.

first mod: take off the red strip and bedliner the bottom.

second mods: RC 4.5" lift, trac bar and shocks, 31" general grabber at2's on black steelies, then cobra cb and ARB bull bar, then GTX hood vents and Rock Crusher diff covers, i could be missing some.

Future mods: finish building new home brew front bumper, rear bumper and rock sliders. Get a XJ D44 in rear, regear (find axles already geared) to 4.10's or 4.56, get locker and OBA
