Default Is this XJ worth 3000?

Buddy of mine has a XJ I want. Its a 94 5speed he just had the motor rebuilt and did the trans at the same time. Its got 31s 3" lift a snorkel and cut fenders and bed lined interior. Pretty clean looking XJ IMO but is it really worth what he is asking?

Depends of miles, quality of the electronics and rust. The rebuilt drivetrain honestly means nothing in terms of resale value - especially if there is no paperwork to prove what was done.

Pics?

he's probably asking $3k based on the recent $$ he put into it, wanting to get some money back. in the past 6 months i stupidly put 2k into a car i thought i was keeping forever, life happened and am selling, problem is it's a $3k car that i have 5k into. usually can't get repair money back on a car sale which is a bummer for the seller.

that being said, if it's clean, no rust underneath, i'd consider making an offer based on it being a 5 speed if that's what you like since they are a somewhat harder to find. i bought my current jeep, 98 5-speed 170k, pretty much spotless for $3k, drove 5 hours for it and consider it money well spent. they are out there.

pics of underneath would help.

hope that helps!

Theres very minimal rust on it like I said its a pretty clean jeep for the year. I do love a 5 speed around town and in mud but my current XJ will be my rock rig. Rebuilds werent needed but he wanted them done for piece of mind.
