disc brakes on stock axle
I want to see how many of you would run disc brakes on your stock axle if there was a decent kit for a decent price?
a friend of mine and I were talking about this and I want to see what people's input would be. I know a dana 35 or 8.25 isnt king of all axles but would you still put discs on it?
post up what axle you have and if you would do a disc swap

I've got a D35 that I recently did a disc conversion on. Yes I spent some money on a D35, but look at it this way if I swap in an 8.25 in the future all I need to do is bore out the centre and throw on the discs again.

When I had my stock axle I put ZJ disc on it and it only cost me 75 bucks for a complete axle, even had a spare set of shafts.

I did the disc swap on mine, fairly cheap and I can swap it if I ever decide to do 8.25 swap. I'm not going huge so I don't need a bigger axle than that. Well worth it IMO, I have yet to clearance the axle for the ABS sensors.

im in the process of doing a rear disc conv. on a d35 while rebuilding the entire rear end. Does anyone know how to keep the ABS with this conversion? Being she lives mostly on the street id like to keep it.

I'm swaping in a Chry 8.25 now I went out & bought the teraflex kit. Junkyard parts in WNY are exactly that Junk. I can't wait to get it in & test it out. The kit is cheaper than buying stock parts new...

You either need the tone rings off whatever axle they came from or those shafts and of course the abs sensors. They are just two wires so you can cut yours and splice these on if you don't want to rerun the whole wire.

Grab the rear ABS wiring from the ZJ, it should be plug and play. You will need to clearance the axle flange for the ZJ ABS sensors.
