what the hell you like xjs but not mjs... thats like only eating blue skittles!!!
you can take the box off an mj so it would seam much easyer and more practical... and if yo just want the 4 doors, well thats not much room for a utility box on the back,,, whats your plan?

Chop top has been done a ton of times.

Be prepared to add a cage with unibody tie ins.
Otherwise your unibody will begin to fold.

Sell your XJ and buy a service truck.

To think someone would want to cut the back off of a Cherokee. What are these people thinking?

i would just use a comanche, since they're the exact same from the front seats forward. well, for a 4 door xj anyways.

unless you want the 4 doors, but as mentioned, you won't have much room for the box when you cut.

or if you use a 2 door, those have longer doors, so you will have the room behind the front seats to leave enough metal....

just use a comanche, half your work is done. otherwise, it's months of trial and error, because if you knew what you were doing, you wouldn't have asked.

good luck, and post lots of pictures.
