Do you think these would work just the same i like the darker looking lens vs the clear lens. i just see that these have holes for screws vs's the clear ones you have do not.

As long as lens tint is legal in your state. That will work.

Like I said I'll have to draw up what I did for mine. I've just been too busy lately.

I also would like to do this conversion, a wiring diagram would be great, as I am a novice electrician at best

So you will have to figure out what wire is what. White was my ground on my rig. (With vehicle off)Connect a tester to ground. Cut your wires on the brake lights. Don't let them touch each other or anything else. One at a time strip then connect it to the tester as well. Turn your lights on and hazards. One wire will make your tester stay solid. One will make it flash.

These are my quick sketches.

Was doing some research say you need a trailer wiring kit to do this and a relay? You did not use either ? And you don't have fast flashing or anything ?

I do have fast flashers. I like them actually. To get rid of them use a resistor from Autozone that is made for LED lights. Use the instructions on the packaging.
I'm not sure what you need the relay and the trailer wiring kit. When you cut off the bulb fixtures all the wiring is right there.
