I still wanna see a jeep chirp tires shifting up at 80 mph in any gear... dropping it in first and grenading your jeep doesn't count...

PS - Mine is an auto, so I'll need someone to loan me a 5 speed for the demo...

does say enough i think.
how fast youre jeep's going? suppose how it's driven in his younger days.
got a 4.0 I6 Low Output and got it in germany once between 180 and 190 km/h. takes time to get it. but i think its supposed were the jeep is sold?
in belgium the limiter is on at 140 km/h for SUV's/Jeep's.
in germany the legal speed is cut off at 250 km/h. faster? cost a lot of money to do that on youre car. other ECU.....
it's not just how fast the jeep's possible go, it's how crazy is the driver to do that.
i did it once, just to know how fast my old XJ really can go. also the first and last time i did that to my jeep also.

Last week we did a 800 mile trip ( one way ) around 1700 miles trip + some desert and beach sand .
Was my xj , 1999 limited xj with auto tranz , 1997 zj 5.2 and the 2001 Ho
Every jeep with 3 persons and 3 small bags we was driving 80-90 mph all the way without single problem except for the HO fan ( not a big deal temp rise a bit if stop for long than 3 min )
With this very long trips no one here can drive less than 70 mile because big trucks are driving like 65 here is some pics of the trip

Chirping the wrong way... I had a Sebring with a battery terminal that was too talk and could short on the hood. It shuts down everything when it shorts and drops into second (safety) gear. I squealed both front tires at 60mph when it did that.

You've apparently never been going 80 in 3rd gear in a 5 speed. You'd only be hitting like what, 7000 rpms?

If you go from 5th to 3rd at 80, I promise the tires wil chirp. It was a joke. I refuse to use sarcasm smilies so that everybody can get it...
I took my Jeep over 90mph ONCE because of a tailgater and had a u-joint cap pop off my front DS. Scared the **** out of me, and also makes me firmly believe that no stock XJ has any business going that fast. Wanna do 100mph? There's PLENTY of cars out there that will get the job done a lot safer. ****, just go buy a 99-02 Cougar with a V6 and 5-speed, and I guarantee 130mph given a nice, long, open road. Do a few mods, and I have no doubt mine would do 150mph. Haven't gone to a track with a long enough straight to try it, and have no desire to try it on a public road.
130mph on a public road in an XJ? No thanks, I'd like to live to be old and senile and yell at you kids to get off my lawn.

Hell, I just turned 27 on Thanksgiving and I am right there with you. I got all my speed out of me when I was 19 and street racing my Cougar 6 nights a week. Did that for a couple years until I almost t-boned someone who pulled out of a side street while I was doing 90mph, and that was the end of that. I've pretty much driven like a freaking grandma ever since (on the street. Working towards road racing with that same Cougar nowadays. That whole time/place argument applies here). What is the point of hauling *** everywhere to save 3 minutes?

at 60 mph, almost got a few cars in the jeep's tail cause the minimum speed of the most germans they drive is 100 mph. with 180 km/h it looked like i'm standing still cause the most of them drive easy above the 200 km/h marker (limiter at 250 km/h).
