Both are 98 4doors, np231s 4.0 and both REAL clean for the Cleveland area. Their Clean in general IMO (just way nicer than most around here I suppose lol)

Red one is an auto, has like 230k(ish) 2 inch lift (blocks in rear,spacer in front) 30x9.5 tires that need replaced ASAP. Valve cover gasket leaks a bit, tcase linkage needs bushing and rear leafs gotta go bc they look like an S from the lift blocks. $1850

Black one is my buddy's, 5spd has like 130k 6 inch rustys lift that's practically brand new, new shocks all around, bumpers, never been offroaded. Needs a ujoint in front axle, probably need tires before winter (comes with brand new full-size spare tho) had some issues with overheating recently(supposedly fixed) and doesn't have an sye. Surprisingly vibration free but still on my todo list. $2500

Pretty much decided on my buddy's jeep, it's a lot better deal ( I think) and it's got ALOT of big money parts into it. My plan was to get a clean stock one and build it up but a clean, already built up one that hasnt been beat on sounds pretty reasonable.
Just looking for a second opinion on the matter from some fellow XJers!

I'd buy the black one if I were you. Not just because it's already lifted but the red one seems to have some problems and I'm sure you'll find more you weren't told about.
